This section guides author(s) on preparation of their research articles for consideration of ABMS. Author(s) are expected to keep instructions detailed in this section in view while preparing their manuscript(s) before submission.

Manuscript Preparation

All articles must be prepared in English language written in active third person. Author(s) should avoid using any personal pronouns e.g. “I”, ”Me”, ”Us”, ”We” and etc. The content must be clear and any ambiguity must be avoided. 

Recommended Length of Articles

The usual word limit range for research article is 3000 to 5000 words. The lower limit word limit is a recommended one only and it does not restrict author(s) to confine manuscript in that range, however the maximium limit word limit must not be more than 5000 words. 

Supporting Material

Author(s) are allowed to include any number of figures, tables, data-set and/or any additional relevant supporting material with each article.

The first line of every new paragraph must be indent to 0.25 Pt.

Paper Sections (Text Formation)

All manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with following sections:

    1. Abstract;
    2. Introduction;
    3. Literature Review;
    4. Methodology;
    5. Results and Analysis;
    6. Conclusion;
    7. Discussion;
    8. References
    9. Conflict of Interest Statement (CIS)
    10. Acknowledgements

Title

The title of the manuscript must be specific to the topic and should not contain more than 120 characters. The first alphabet of each word in whole text of the title excluding articles, conjunctions and prepositions must be capitalized.

Abstract

The abstract should present crux of whole manuscript producing the precise and exact summary in maximum of 250 words. An ideal abstract is comprised of the background of study, goal of study, methods / experiments carried out, results and conclusion;

Keywords

4 to 6 keywords must be provided in an alphabetical order.

Conflict of Interest Statement

Any reported financial contribution to the work should be acknowledged properly along with any possible conflict of interest.

Acknowledgements

Author(s) are required to acknowledge any third party assistance in due course of development of manuscripts. These acknowledgements may refer contribution of persons made during stages of research design and development, data analysis, document drafting, evaluation of manuscript before submission etc.

All the funding acquired from any sources and used in any manner during the development of said study should be listed properly in acknowledgement section.

References

ABMS uses Harvard Citation Format and therefore, it is the responsibility of author(s) to produce all the references present in the manuscript in the said style only. Please avoid using references in Abstract.

The basics of a Reference Section entry for an ABMS article includes:

  1. Author or authors. The surname is followed by first initials.
  2. Year of publication of the article.
  3. Article title (in single inverted commas).
  4. Journal title (in italics).
  5. Volume of journal.
  6. Issue number of journal.
  7. Page range of article.

(Example): Gray, L 2018, 'Exploring how and why young people use social networking sites', Educational Psychology in Practice, vol. 34, no. 2, pp. 175-194.

In-text Citation: (Single Author)

(Example): According to Gray (2018, p. 175), there is ‘significant gender and age differences related to how young people use SNS’

(OR)

Gray (2018) suggests that young people’s perception of Social Networking is related to their association with their offline lives.

Please Note

  1. All those references that are not present anywhere in the text but listed in Reference Section will be removed. Please avoid WIKI reference and do mention available DOIs’ of journal articles, books and conference proceedings at the end of the reference in the Reference Section.
  2. Author(s) will be responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the references.

Appendices

All the other lengthy methodological details can be presented in Appendices if required. Please note that the Appendices section must not exceed the page limit of 3 (Times New Roman, 10 point fonts, 1.0 line spacing). More than one Appendix can be titled APPENDIX A, APPENDIX B, and so on.

Figures

Please note that all the figures must include caption below with the number and must be cited in the text. Any reference contained by the figure(s) should also be cited. Author(s) should avoid using any third party tools to compress the figure or to reduce the size of illustrations. Kindly shrink the image using proper software or acquire the services of professional.  Kindly supply only those illustrations which have 900-1200 DPI resolution. Kindly remove those figures from manuscript which are too large for the content. All the figures must include caption with figure number in the following format:

Fig. (1). Description of the figure.

Tables

  • All the tables must be inserted in tabular form using Excel spreadsheet.
  • Every table should include self-explanatory caption with respect to the details discussed in the table.
  • Every table must be cited accordingly in the text.
  • Rows and Columns must be visible and borders of each cell must be displayed as black lines.
